I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey, New York, & Pennsylvania.
My practice is clinically grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy. We will spend time exploring your history, upbringing, and past relationships along with identifying unhealthy relationship patterns manifesting in the present.
We will identify areas in which you feel stuck and break down those barriers. I will help you strengthen your sense of self, better manage uncomfortable emotions and symptoms, and enhance your self worth/self esteem.
Training & Approach
I have worked in private practice for the past several years. I use a number of different treatment modalities and tools with clients, however overall I consider myself a relational therapist. Relational Therapy is a therapeutic approach that emphasizes the importance of human relationships. I pay attention to your present relationships, explore past relationships, and assist with identifying patterns, themes, reenactments, or connections. Traumas are also explored.
I strongly believe the relationship with my client is the most effective tool for change. I will consistently be aware of our relationship and how it is impacting therapy.
I hold a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Saint Catherine University. I received a post graduate training certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) from the EMDR Institute and Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy from the Wellness Institute.
What I Offer
Psychotherapy can help strengthen your sense of self, enhance self esteem, improve confidence, and help you achieve personal goals.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables healing from the symptoms and emotional distress that result from disturbing life experiences.
Hypnotherapy is a highly effective and experiential form of therapy that approaches healing from a deeply caring and healing perspective.
I want therapy to be as accessible to you as possible.
I want therapy to be as accessible as possible. Right now I offer in person, telehealth, and phone sessions.
One of my main goals is to normalize therapy and to help you feel comfortable throughout the process. There will be times of discomfort and I will provide you with tools to help manage the discomfort, sit in it, and work through it.
We can also come up with a plan on how to best manage difficult emotions, along with scheduling brief email or text check-ins throughout the week to help with implementing the tools we discuss during sessions. We will reinforce coping mechanisms that you already utilize.
